Welcome To Romey Rome's House
Jerome Redd was born into poverty on the drug-filled, desolate streets
of Baltimore, Maryland. Emanating from a huge family of eleven
children, Jerome emerged directly from the middle of the pack.  He
often reflected back on his childhood with the following words:

"We weren’t poor, we were po. We couldn’t afford the or. There was
never enough of anything to go around. The church, education and
discipline were a constant in our household."

After graduating from High School, Jerome joined the Army after one
year at Morgan State University. Twenty-one years later, he retired
from the Army as a Senior Non-Commissioned Officer. While doing
volunteer work in the Army and working with young people, he found
that he was good at the arduous task of writing poetry and describing
life with his words.

After retiring, he sought employment at the YLA (Youth Leadership
Academy) in New York State for seven years. The youth offenders at
this facility, inspired, critiqued and provoked Jerome to get his poetry
published. Also while in New York, he received his BS in Psychology at
the State College of Oneonta. As a full-time student, working full-time
and holding two part-time jobs, he still graduated with distinction.

While returning to Baltimore to work as an Instructor at an
Environmental Engineering Firm, he was again encouraged about his
poetry from an author and publisher (Galuminatti).  Jerome took this
second encounter to the next level. He chose to pursue this opportunity
and he is in current stride to have his first poetry book released.  More
than likely, a few other books of poetry will also follow.

Jerome's unique storytelling in prose is captivating. He speaks not only
to individuals, but to popular subjects such as love, marriage,  soldier
woes and everyday life.
